Newlyweds Anne Sophie and Karma married last summer in the Nepali/Newa heritage site of the Patan, Nepal, a scenic and unique backdrop for their special day. The couple wanted to embrace and amalgamate their Newari and French’s beautiful traditions with surroundings and their love of Nepal’s traditional heritage site — a truly enchanted atmosphere full of unique Newari architecture and history.

Anne Sophie’s wedding dress search brought her to our London Flagship boutique through online chat. “I am so happy that I chose Sanyukta Shrestha London for this. Talking to Designer herself to create my bespoke wedding dress, I was mesmerized! They demonstrated nothing but patience, kindness and understanding and somehow managed to make sense of the sea of ideas and possibilities I myself was having such a hard time shaping.”

Anne Sophie had her eye on our Couture gowns while we showed her possibilities with colours and craftmanship to create a bespoke demi couture gown for her, and she was excited to go through this journey wholeheartedly. When we discussed bringing her vision to life, it was unlike any other wedding dress she’d seen before – romantic yet contemporary with a hint of regal touch, which felt like that’s kind of her style that Sanyukta translated into the sketch. Since her wedding venue was largely outside, the ceremony surrounded by Newari architecture we wanted to create something that would speak to this. Her bespoke wedding dress really spoke to her love for sustainability and bridging connection between French heritage with Newari architectural magic!
