Recognised by the media as “the dawn of the sustainable movement” and “the Greta of the Wedding World”, the Nepalese born British designer Shrestha has redefined the bridal market and was among the first to introduce sustainability to the bridal industry in 2011. With the launch of her first international sustainable bridal collection made out of ground breaking eco-friendly fibres such as nettle, hemp, soya, bamboo, milk, banana, and organic cotton, Sanyukta Shrestha is the first designer of Nepali origin to be documented in the history of The Fashion Museum (listed by CNN as one of the world’s Top 10 fashion museums) from 16th century to till date.

Sanyukta Shrestha’s Zero waste approach, slow and transparent supply chain, minimal carbon footprint, and high-end designs reflects many hours of meticulous work using the hand-spun and hand weaved sustainable materials that pays tribute to the 1000 years old Nepalese Craftsmanship. In the early years of her fashion career, Sanyukta worked as a volunteer for World Wildlife Fund Nepal (WWF) and Women’s Rehabilitation Center (WOREC) in Nepal which led her to envision a brand that will be kind to the planet and the people. The commitment to sourcing eco-friendly materials sustainably along with the designer’s desire to support deprived women and providing Fairtrade work for marginalised communities, created a strong community and gave an innovative depth to what a brand represents now.

During her celebrated career, Sanyukta has received several prestigious national & international awards and has been praised by the media for her commitment towards a sustainable approach and her timeless designs, featuring in leading magazines. Her designs are seen at ‘The Oscars’, ‘BAFTA’, ‘Cannes’ and worn by celebrities like Victoria’s Secret supermodel Candice Swanepoel, American girl band Fifth Harmony, Soprano’s Natalie Coyle and Laura Wright and Amy Nuttall to name a few.
