“In November I came to her bridal studio/stunning country manor and sat down with Sanyukta to design my gown, we went through fabrics/shapes and details and Sanyukta knew exactly what I wanted and more. The process was seamless, and my dress was ready to collect at the end of March in time for our wedding day in May. I couldn’t have asked for anything more perfect!” – Wishing you all the best and lots of love, Daisy xx
Newlyweds Daisy and Eugene married in the spring of May 2022. Their day started with a traditional church ceremony with a Catholic service, and the celebrations that followed unfolded at 15th century farmhouse ‘The Farmhouse at Redcoats’ nestled in the picturesque Hertfordshire countryside. Daisy wanted her wedding reception to be a relaxed country-style wedding with brightly coloured flowers and it to be a lot of fun when it came to the party!
On her wedding day, Daisy completed the look with a bouquet of seasonal bright coloured wildflowers with the pop of a few daisies, Rachel Simpson heels, and elegant little drop crystal earrings that Eugene bought for her birthday the year before.
Having worked in “Bridal” in the past Daisy always knew what kind of dress she wanted, and a Pinterest board to prove it, Daisy ended up commissioning a bespoke design from the Sanyukta Shrestha. “I used to work with Sanyukta years ago so I always dreamt I would wear one of her designs one day. I had an idea of what I wanted. We worked together coming up with the design of my dress and I’m so happy with how it came out. I felt like myself, it was so comfortable, and I felt fabulous,” she explains. “I want to say a huge thank you to Sanyukta and anyone involved in the making of my wedding dress. Not only was I completely in love with how my dress came out but also the way the beautiful fabrics felt on me made my day feel so magical.”
“Sanyukta’s studio is breathtakingly gorgeous and feels extremely luxurious set in a Georgian county manor in Lincolnshire. However, the experience felt so natural and relaxed. I brought one friend with me, and it was just the most wonderful day. Communication was perfect through the whole timeline of seeing Sanyukta to the collection day of my wedding dress.”
Reminiscing on her wedding, Daisy shared some Words of Wedded Wisdom for future brides:
“Don’t take a huge amount of people with you during your bridal appointment. It can be difficult with so many opinions of what they imagine you look like on your wedding day. Have an understanding of what styles you are drawn to but be open to new ideas. Wear good, structured underwear closest to your skin tone so you can imagine how your dress will look when trying on gowns.”
Daisy looked utterly beautiful on her wedding day. We wish Daisy & Eugene all the luck on their new adventures together!
Love,
Sanyukta Shrestha team xxx
Wedding date?
21st May 2022
Q. Full married name and husband’s name?
Daisy Risdon and Eugene Risdon
Q. How long did it take you to find the dress?
Working in “Bridal” in the past I always knew what kind of dress I wanted, which was a very floaty skirt and a slightly structured top, maybe in lace. However, when Sanyukta suggested a spotty tulle fabric for the top I instantly loved it. So really it was all done in a day!
Q. Were you aware of eco fashion before finding your Sanyukta Shrestha wedding dress?
Yes and you really can feel the difference, I had a bamboo cotton lining to my silk dress, and it felt incredible. It’s lovely to know my dress came from a sustainable source.
Q. What will you remember most about your day?
My favourite part of the day was actually the part I was most nervous about. Our first dance, we had a live band singing the Wanadies- You and me. We danced slowly to the start but when the song got livelier all our guests ran straight on to the dance floor and really kicked the party off!
Q. Where did you and your husband meet?
We first met up on two floors in Soho, close to where we both work.
Q. How did he propose?
At the Hampstead pergolas, which is normally quite busy but it was just the two of us there.
Q. How long have you been planning the wedding?
We got engaged at the end of 2020 so about a year and a half.
Q. Did you have something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue?
No I didn’t actually.
Q. Did you visit any wedding blogs prior to your wedding, for inspiration and ideas? Honestly, we mainly used Pinterest for inspiration and Instagram to find local suppliers.
