DRAFT Real Bride Jenny Dickson

24/7/14

Neil. Met at a party through a mutual friend in January 2010

Mas Saint Germain, Saint Bauzille De Montmel, near Montpellier, France.

THE PROPOSAL

In the pouring rain outside the Sacre Coeur in Paris

MOST MAGICAL MOMENT

The ceremony, as it was very personal to us.

FINDING THE DRESS

I knew I didn’t want a traditional wedding dress so as soon as I walked into Sanyukta Shrestha’s boutique and saw the racks of beautiful, original gowns I knew it was the place for me.

THE WEDDING DRESS

My Sonia gown was perfect for the hot weather in the South of France. It was light as a feather, glamorous and made me feel beautiful. I received so many compliments on the day for the amazing back detail.

BEING A SANYUKTA SHRESTHA BRIDE

Eco-friendly bridal dresses was not something I had particularly thought about before but it definitely made the gown feel more special knowing the care and effort that had been put into the fabrics.

WEDDING DRESS SHOPPING ADVICE FOR BRIDES

Try on lots of different styles and don’t be surprised if you veer away from the style you always thought you’d want. Go with your gut feeling and especially the one that makes you cry, you won’t be disappointed.

SOMETING OLD, SOMETHING NEW, SOMETHING BORROWED, SOMETHING BLUE

Old – a ring that was my Nan’s

New – a bracelet my husband bought me as a wedding present

Borrowed – a teddy given to me by my friends mum after she passed away (I consider it borrowed).

Blue – a blue charity ribbon for cervical cancer in memory of my friend who passed away from the disease a few years ago.
