Once again the team at Sanyukta Shrestha made their return to Brides the Show, taking place at the Business Design Centre in Angel, London from 30th September – 2nd October. Organised by the fantastic team at Brides magazine, this event is famous for securing the best in the wedding industry, providing a wonderful weekend for brides-to-be to find all of their wedding inspiration under one roof. From venues, designers, caterers and photographers- there is much to learn and a lot of fun (and freebies!) to be had.
We give you a peek behind the scenes and the lowdown on everything that the weekend involved.
Tucked away off the main high street in Angel, London, the Business Design Centre is one of the largest and well renowned exhibition centres in London. With stunning art-deco-esque architecture and it’s own small complex, situated near a plethora of restaurants and shops, every year the centre turns in to a hub of wedding frenzy.
This year the entrance was graced with a bold display of balloons, courtesy of Bubblegum Balloons, along with stunning editorial images from the latest issue of Brides magazine. We were excited to see that 2 of the images featured included designs from our latest collection, Enchanted Blooms– the Middlemist jumpsuit and Edelweiss jacket.
As always, the inside of the venue looked stunning, with a statement blossom tree gracing the entrance and ticket desk, creating a romantic and whimsical statement for the bridal parties arriving.
The Prezola champagne bar was also beautifully placed in the centre with a charming gift tree, signalling it as the hotspot for collecting bridal gift bags.
This year’s VIP Lounge was sponsored by The Wedding Shop, creating an exclusive area for premium ticket holders that granted them with front row catwalk seats, a champagne bar and bridal breakfast party.
Located next to the VIP Lounge was the impressive entrance to the circus-themed catwalk. Guests were guided through a hallway of delicious and fun sponsors, giving out sweets and snacks with fun gimmicky photobooths.
More about the bridal catwalk show can be read in our previous post.
The show also played host to a number of workshops and talks that brides-to-be could take part in with their friends and family, learning fun new skills and taking away expert advice from exhibitors, such as Bobbi Brown, the Skin Doctors, Ian Stuart Bluecoat, Ricky Paul Flowers and Pop Bakery, amongst many others.
All of these incredible collaborators and sponsors ensured the most enthusiastic and committed brides stepped through the doors to make their wedding dreams a reality.
Sanyukta Shrestha was placed near the stunning Lookbook Live stand, bringing in a large footfall of excited brides and members of the press.
Surrounded by an array of bridal designers, Sanyukta Shrestha stood out in the crowd, with her impeccable craftsmanship and tailoring, along with fashion forward, vintage inspired and bohemian designs. With the 1930s circus theme of the catwalk in mind, the stand was designed to highlight the timeless aesthetic of Sanyukta’s gowns, allowing the dresses to speak for themselves against the bold backdrop image (of the Calathia dress from Enchanted Blooms), along with the unique and ethical handmade process images displayed on the wall as a cause for conversation.
We were also excited to be involved in the Brides magazine Whoopie Pie Prize Wall competition– offering up to £2000 towards a Sanyukta Shrestha wedding dress to the winner of a Gold prize.
We were overwhelmed with the excitement and interest about this offer from budding brides, but it was Suzi Wollington that was lucky enough to win this exclusive bridal experience, and we can’t wait to help her bring her wedding day dreams to life with a luxurious Sanyukta Shrestha gown of her choice!
Congratulations Suzi!
Thanks again to Brides magazine and SME London for another fantastic year of exhibiting at Brides the Show 2016. We look forward to taking part again next year and seeing all of the beautiful brides that we met at the show in our boutique soon!
