Lace on lace – Black and white never looked so good!!! We loved that Laura chose a classic black and white theme. James’ proposal to Laura was like a scene out of a movie, he popped the questions at the top of the empire state building in America during April 2015!

We were Laura’s first and only experience when it came to dress shopping, she described her moment as finding the one when she instantly felt playful in the gown she fell in love with, we were so happy with her choice, we just love our Sanyukta Shrestha Edelwis two piece gown, Laura looked so incredibly beautiful and most importantly, comfortable! Comfort is something we at Sanyukta Shrestha believe is so important for a bride’s special day. We create our gowns to not only look luxurious but to feel luxurious!

WHERE DID YOU MEET:
We met at Bauer Media where we both worked in 2012.
THE PROPOSAL:
James planned a surprise proposal at the top of the Empire State building in April 2015
THE VENUE:
M Restaurants in Bank, London.
THE THEME:
Black and White.
MOST MAGICAL MOMENT:
Aside from walking down the aisle with my father, seeing James all spunked up in his suit and cheering my way through the speeches, I most enjoyed the first and last dance of the night – A few mismatched steps to a classic song and uncontrollable fits of laughter.
THE DRESS:
Sanyukta’s boutique was the first place I visited on my search for a wedding dress. Having tried on a few of the beautiful gowns, I knew it was ‘the one’ when I felt less serious (and mature) and instantly playful – the dress is unique, bold and slightly flirtatious.
Typically I wear ripped jeans and sneakers at work and out on the town, it was a special feeling to wear a dress I felt so comfortable in, without the need to suck in.
FAIRTRADE:
Were you aware of Fairtrade-organic fabrics before finding your SS wedding dress? What are your thoughts on eco-friendly clothing now you have worn an eco-bridal gown? I love the story of how Sanyukta supports villagers in Nepal, allowing them to work and earn in the home, supporting their family via the specially trained craft of spinning ecological materials into beautiful, bespoke, one-off gowns.
YOUR ADVISE FOR OTHER BRIDES:
Do you have advice for brides to be on wedding dress shopping? I would recommend that brides to be take just one close friend and try on dresses they wouldn’t normally consider on the rack. I would never have tried on the dress I ended up wearing if it weren’t for a little nudge and poke from my bridesmaid.
